Why do you usually vote democrat or republican?

If you always vote for a different party, post that. Otherwise, since for the most part we are a bipartisan society in the US, please stick with the main two. You can use ideas from the party you usually vote for, though to back up one of the main two. I'll start. I usually vote republican. (Note, I am not refering to Bush, who has not followed a lot of the republican party line.) Why: 1. I disagree with the welfare state that democrats seem hellbent on creating. 2. I believe abortion is murder 3. I believe that helping businesses succeed is the best way to help workers and our entire nation. 4. I believe that the government should be very limitted in its powers; fewer programs; lower taxes (and privitization of current government projects would be good too) 5. I believe in a strong defensive (not offensive) military 6. I am pro equal treatment; I am against affirmative action 7. I believe illegal immigrants should be deported or jailed. 8. I believe in schools having individual control over how they opperate and allowing full choice to parents as to which school their children attend.

I vote Republican because of my conservative ideals. However, that is not to say that I wouldn't vote for a Democrat if he were more conservative than the Republican. Here is why. 1) I believe in the power of the people. A government big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take it all away. (Barry Goldwater) The Government should be limited in size and should only hold the power granted to it in the Constitution. 2)Abortion is Murder, although this is not a Federal Government issue 3) I believe the government should only take in what it absolutely needs so there should technically be no need for tax cuts, but since I know this will never happen, I believe in tax cuts for all. And if you pay more taxes than the average American, I believe you are entitled to a taxcut proportional to that of the average American (even if this makes it seem like you are getting a "bigger cut") Those are my big 3. I also vote on family values. I would have added immigration to that list, but I realize that neither party actually takes my hardline stance.

like "honesty is best policy for humans" "democracy is the best policy for country" democratics and republicans rule the world except in countries like china and other asian countries. 1. the welfare state has been prevaling with the exsistence of democratics. 2. abortion is not murder. its best for unhappy births and preventing social antipathy towards those children 3. buisness may be better for individuals, but the whole country cannot flourish on capitalism. 4. yes, the govt. should have limited powers and more privatization should be allowed in more fields ( here i agree with u) coming to military and illegal immigration....steps are taken to check their increase

I vote Republican for most of the same reasons you do. They share some of the same qualities I believe in. They are more for Christian rights, not just every other religion in the world rights. They oppose abortion (most of them), they want to lower taxes and promote welfare reform. Also, they are for the most part, opposed to gay marriage. These are often not popular positions to take, but these are some of the reasons why I vote Republican. And also, whoever wants to decrease our military is crazy. We might not have to use it, but we should definitely HAVE it. Else we might just as well send an engraved invitation to Iran.
