I have found that males are easier to work with than women. They tend to keep there personnal business to them selves. Although I hope my employees do not feel the same way or I am in trouble. LOL. I have always worked with men and they just all seem to get along. I have worked in one office with a lot of women and you could cut the air with all the tension that you felt when you walked in.

I have to agree. I've worked with several male and female bosses and invariably there are more grudges, backstabbing and general unpleasentries with my female bosses. I don't think you can make a general statement that women don't make good bosses, however I haven't had positive experiences yet.

I agree with both of you. PMS is not a good thing in the workplace, lol. Some men are guilty of flirting and making advances in the office. Both can be good or both can be bad, but from my experience I would rather work for a man. I also think that women tend to be closer to their employees, warmer, invite them to social gatherings outside the office. Close friendships are made and that can sometimes get in the way. Men tend to have more of a one track mind and get to the business at hand instead of leaving all their laundry at the office. Too much information!

I wouldnt mind either of them being my boss untill they can emphathize with the situations their employees are.. mostly i have worked with male bosses and do prefer them over the other... simple reason being that i can communicate my problems in a much simpler way to my male bosses and have had a very good rapport with them ..... never been with any female bosses as yet ... but did work with a colleague who did act as a boss to some other department ... and i really wouldnt like to go through what she had to do with all that authority that she had

The best boss I have ever had was a man, but he was a very unusual and exceptional man- he was a mentor as much as he was a boss. I learned more important life lessons from him in two years than I ever learned from my parents.
That said, I would typically rather have a female boss. Unfortunately, an inequality exists in the corporate world- it's harder for women to make it to the top, and womens' work tends to get overlooked in favor of mens', even if it is of the same quality. I feel that if my boss is female, I have a better chance of getting noticed and given recognition for my work.

That's an excellent point! I'll bet many men also get promotions over women just because the women is in childbearing age and they think the man would be more stable and hold the position longer.

I dont mind my boss being a male or a female!
All I expect from my boss is that me and my boss should have good interpersonal relations. I am in s/w indutry where knowledge is power,I expect my boss to be more knowledgeable than me, and as long as these are true I dont care about my boss being a male or a female!

I like my bosses male, even though I'm female. The female bosses I worked for had PMS and you can never please them. The male bosses have 1 personality 24/7.

Yes, the one personality 24/7 whatever that might be! Thanks for the laugh.
