I got to work on some guys computer yesterday and it was the first time I got to play around on Vista. It's very complicated for people who aren't good with computers but for those of us who do it can be lots of fun. It has tons of new thing and more details. It still has some bugs though. I noticed on his that his screen will go black every once and a while for no reason. I don't know wether I like it or not because I didn't get to play with it much but I want to know what everyone else thinks.

Why would you buy an new OS that still has bugs, that's like going to a new car dealer and buying a new car with no steering wheel. I'm sticking with XP Pro Like the saying goes "If it aint broke dont fix it"

Very, very true. I love my XP Pro and haven't had any problems with it at all. I don't think i'll switch over to Vista until I'm forced to.

I love it... It's still not 100% what windows should be but hell its def a good step towards the right direction. I'll get myself a vista once it settles in and SP1 is out orso :-) for users who think that its a ripoff of mac (love macs, but still am used to windows)...well I don't actually care...all I care for is a good, easy and secure OS and this is atleast a good try. ~MSD~

well it is always best to be upgraded with every thing on your computer. but when it comes to microsoft i preffered to be away from it as long as there some service pack available for vista. Vista is great no doubt about it. there may be certailny some issues with it and i would like to wait for it. Atleast till service pack 2. before that i dont like to waste money.

Hi, I think using Microsoft software is a wasting of time. They are always full-of-problems (it's enough to see how many patch Microsoft often releases) and they are pretty useless. If you pay attention you'll find that Microsoft products have only graphics but have zero real utility. Linux and MAC are a lot of better. :)

I really want to get Windows Vista, and use it, but my computer won't be able to carry this. Windows Vista requires a great computer with best parts in it, and I don't have that computer right now. I wonder how it's like to use this Windows Vista, because I saw some Print Screen Pictures of it, and it looks nice.

i've seen many screenshots of vista on television internet and it magazines. It seems much refined than all other versions of windows. i really liked its interface which at times reminds of a mac os.Windows seem to b much more interactive as we would see in sci-fi movies and in some high end applications like aircraft. The thing which worries me is that my computer can never get it installed .because it 'as got only 256 sdr ram with all slots filled up.moreover absence of graphics card can add to irony. So i doubt whether thousands of 'basic'systems as we have got in india would accept vista as an upgrade even if they wish to have it. Still i hope that there wont be any conflicts between vista & other os .this would only make it more popular. What really i expected of vista was high performance and computing from existing platforms.

I have not used it yet and I don't think I will as I am hearing to many bad reports about it. I like Windows XP and I just do not understand why they have to keep bringing something new out, well I do understand it is so that someone can make money. No I will stick with Windows XP lol

I have only been on it a few times. We have a new one at work with Vista on it. The new features are pretty cool and the games are better. I will stay with XP for now and wait a while before I give Vista a try.

I haven't really tried out windows vista, but i read an article on it saying that microsoft reserves the right to check on your computer whenever they feel necessary. I don't really like the fact that they can get into your computer and take information from you. They say its just for making sure that things dont get pirated, but i dont really trust them.

As mentioned by a few people below, microsoft has the reputation of never releasing a bug free program which is understandable as there is never 100% complete beta and bug testing. However getting back to point a bit more, in the past many people including me have noticed that it is best to wait awhile before upgrading and operating system as there are often bugs which will be common and quickly removed, these can be a pain and the fix for them can seem to take forever. Saying that though I do like windows vista but cant help make the comparison to windows 2000 in that vista came out as a short term addition before longhorn is released and windows 200 came out just before XP. So all in all it has the potential to be a good OS but obviously needs work I have used it and reverted back as there were a lot of common bugs but Im sure MS will bring a fix out to cure most of these..when is the question most of us should be asking

ur idea is true .one can only make a product perfect through such correction. There may be viruses and patches .Trojans and 'anti-viruse's. still they say thta security is much strong in vista.this means MS team has put all their previous experiences with wacky viruses and made the best out of it.

Woow WIndows Vista.. what a hot subject i can say. I have talked a lot in my area with many of my friends and all of them had only positive thoughts about it. I can say that i was blow off by this new windows system. Some things certainly lack to it but this new look which Microsoft has incorporated in it certainly do the money you would give for it. I have waited this new system for 2 weeks and here i am using it. It was pretty hard for me to buy it because in my area it can't be found. So i had to ask a friend from another part of my country to order me. I am so happy using it and all i have are only words of gratitdue. I post here a short description about VISTA. Windows Vista contains hundreds of new features; some of the most significant include an updated graphical user interface (GUI) and visual style dubbed Windows Aero, improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools such as Windows DVD Maker, and completely redesigned networking, audio, print, and display sub-systems. Vista also aims to increase the level of communication between machines on a home network using peer-to-peer technology, making it easier to share files and digital media between computers and devices. For developers, Vista includes version 3.0 of the .NET Framework out of the box. The .Net Framework makes it significantly easier for developers to write high-quality applications than with the traditional Windows API.

I didn't get the chance yet to test this new version of Windows. I am still using my Windows XP. But I have heard a lot about Windows Vista, both good and bad comments. The good comments say, that this one works more swifter, than the other versions. I has some locking program to lock or bar the viewing of different objectionable websites. Also, it has a more glamorous interface and design. The bad comments say, that it is not much user friendly to amateurs. Also, it makes the machine more succeptible to virus and spyware attacks, and hijacking attempts. Although Microsoft Corporation has strongly denied these possibilities, but still many engineers, who tested it privately, has such things to say.

yes i used this windows just for one day then i figured it out that itnt better then windows xp, vista is some how complicated windows, i guess it will take some time to get it popluar, its very precise windows comtaning less options, most of the programs dont work in this new windows, i think windows xp is the best one.
