I think theres alot of things your "not meant" to do with your child, but as a parent only you know whats best. Even if your unsure, I think parents know in their hearts whats right for them. Every child and parent are different so theres really no right or wrong answer.

I used to let my daughter sleep with me in the same bed because she wouldn't go to sleep in her own for a long time. I would get her to sleep and no more than lay her down in her bed and she would wake up again. It was easier for me to let her sleep with me for a while. I was concerned for her safety, but she had already kept me up night and day for two weeks straight.

I used to co sleep when we first brought our son home from the hospital. I really wasn't worried about him sufforcating or anything. I just new he'd be ok and I'd be right there for him. He's now 14 months and for the most part sleeps in his own room. He usually wakes sometime around 5am and crawls into bed with us, which is ok. He falls right back asleep and we all sleep for at least another hour or 2.
