I've started writing a book about a part of my life. Just for the money.

If you are doing it "just for the money" don't you think you will be bored while writing it. I believe that to write something you have to be involved with what you are writing. I am also writing a book about a part of my life but it is so my grandchildren will read it in the future and understand some things they need to understand about their background and their family. So what is your goal in the long run? How much money do you want to make from your book?

No, I'm not bored, really. It's actually enjoyable because I'm using the "stream of mind" technique [if that's what it's called in English] and I really like reminding myself of my childhood and what adventures I have been through. No, the issues is, that I only wanted to do this because of the money. Never for a second did I think I might try it for the fun.

Writing a book is a worthy project - it's definitely an accomplishment. But I wonder how you plan to make money off of it? It's pretty tricky to get memoirs published unless you're famous, and self-publishing is not always profitable.

i think it is a good idea to write a book about your life. But you should not only do that for money. Money can motivate us to do a lot of things. but the best motivation or inspiration is not money. you should write about your life because you want to share your life with others, because you want others to reflect on your life, because you want others to learn from your life. i think thats the best motivation there is for you to write well on your life's story. good luck on your plan. take care.

You must ask yourself if any one would be interesting to read a book on your life ?? would you not be better off writting a fictional based story? there is a good web site www.writersbureau.com have a look, and remember if you do write a book characters and places with real names could prove to be a bit stubble if your book gets published in the near future.
Good luck with whatever you choice to do, unfortunately an authors life is not as easy as we all think, everything that is written needs to be researched, including every full stop and comma

I'm trying to keep everything as real as possible, because I want it to be some kind of confession or explanation, if not for the public, then at least in the memory of the ones who have passed away and whom I'd really like to mention about in the book and how they have influenced my life.
