You would think that during the winter months, they would run the programs straight though and not take a break. I remember watching shows in the past like Cosby, cheers, ect and they never took time off. Just goes to show you that these actors are overpaid and underworked. Man I got into the wrong profession...

It's because of March Madness. They figure their ratings will be better if they wait until April to continue on with the season because a lot of people will be watching the NCAA tournement. As for me I think it sucks cause I've got a DVR box and can record it and watch the games at the same time. But there are a lot of people without that luxury. It sucks but it also makes since for the network. This usually does happen though every year.

Well guys, we have March Madness to thank for ER not being back until mid April. They are afraid that their rates will suffer due to everyone watching basketball. Makes me so mad that I could tear into the network CEOs and land most of them into their local ERs!!!

I know when i heard they weren't coming back till april - i was furious!!!! i also watch Grey's Anatomy and i think they are gone for a while too-- how annoying!
I have also been watching more cable tv lately, I only watch like 5 or 6 shows on network for this exact reason.

I used to watch ER but haven't in ages. I've given up on network TV - I think I would give up eating before I would give up my cable. Lifetime and Hallmark stations are my favorites - my kids have asked if I ever watch anything else (seldom, very seldom).

It does get frustating when everyone can remember the Good old days when there were New shows most of the season and only during the Summer were the repeats instead of now where you might catch maybe 4 New shows every 3 months if you are lucky. Wondering if somehow the Actors are asking for too much $$, or what? It does get Frustrating and make you loose hope. But unfortunately, ER is not the only one. Then they wonder why the Ratings drop?

I agree with you, what is the network thinking. Not having ER on its normal time is making alot of us loyal viewers go to different networks to watch other show. Once we get attached to those shows who knows if we will go back to watching ER at all.

I I have been a faithful follower of ER since it's pilot in 1994. I watched faithfully when they killed off, or wrote out my favorite characters, and I still watched. I watched as they did the Africa series which just aggravated me.
And when my cable was shut off I paid 40 dollars for an antenna to make sure that I would still be able to watch my favorite show. And then they go on hiatus!!!
I am a bit aggravated, but I will get over it as soon as a new episode airs. After all, it is only another couple of weeks now. I have been so busy, believe it or not, I haven't even noticed it was off. I went to watch one night and there was something else on. Then my mom told me it was off the air for a couple of weeks, and I was a bit miffed.
Anyhow, that is my take on this whole issue. I look forward to seeing what everyone else has to say on this topic.
