My boyfriends uncle is dying and his aunt bought herself four fake roses for herself on Valentines Day. She kept them in the house and while her husband was dying she decided that when her husband dies she will give the kids one to put on the casket. Im in no place to say anything, and I never would but are fake roses appropriate at a funeral? Im talking dollar store memorabilia??

I'm not sure what the proper thing to do is, but I find that kinds tacky. It seems as though the fake roses may have some sentimantal value to her so maybe it can be justified that way. Could also be that the fake roses will never die which has some meaning to her...tough to say really.

Ive seen some people use fake flowers, but personally myself I would want to buy the real ones. If anything happened to my mother then I could not bring myself to place fake flowers on her box,, they would have to be real. Maybe I am just a bit old fashioned when it comes to things like this.

I don't think it's old fashioned I think it's good taste. If your old fashioned then that means I am too lol!

Well if it's a sign of love of course.
If she was being cheap i see no harm either, it's the thought which counts to me and maybe a quality rose would of been better i personally think anything would be nice.
I would be fussy if i was laying in the coffin, i'd be glad someone bought something for me and cared.
Kudos
