go to this site and listen to what this one guy did..turn up your volume. It does have some bad language in it just in case there are kids around and for those of you who would rather not listen to something like that. I personally thought it was pretty funny. Oh my! I always feel quite sorry for telemarketers, because it's probably the only job they can get, and it sure is a s**t job................ but, having said that, this still made me laugh though!!

In the US, call the National Do Not Call Registry and sign up. Its free and the directions are easy to understand. http://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx

I just listened to it, that was pretty funny. I have a bill collector story to tell. I was a bill collector for a company that sold alarm systems, and our computer would call on accounts and when a person answered the phone an automated voice would ask them to hold for a very important message. Being that it was about their alarm system, they would generally hold. Their call is then placed in a Que, to go to the next available collections rep. On this particular call, I get on the phone with a female, and I am needing to speak with a male, so I ask for him by name. Her first comment to me was why do you put a customer on hold for five minutes just to discuss their bill. I told her that I was sorry for her wait time and could I please speak with mr so and so. she asked me to hold on a minute that he was in the other room.. she left me on hold for a few minutes and then returned to the phone and said he is on his way would you like to hear some music while you wait..and then turned on some classical kind of music (loud) and I sat there, probably another three minutes waiting, before I went and got my supervisor to approve me ending the call. Needless to say, I did not make my calls per hour quota that day. I was slightly ticked at the time because I did not place her on hold, our computer system did that, but I also thought it was funny that she would "get even" in that way. However, I was also upset that she wasted my time like that. If her bill was not delinquent, we would not have been calling her to begin with. And we had to meet our collection dollars collected quota, our calls per hour quota and our calls per day quota, I was on the line for almost 10 minutes by the time I got a supervisor to ok me ending the call as no one ever did return to the line..and we are not allowed to just hang up..ever..so it really screwed up my day. But i had to admit it was funny for her to turn on the music, set the phone down and walk away like that.

Thanks for sharing! Very funny. I truly do not understand what took the guy so long to hang up. LOL Funny he wanted to put his supervisor on the phone right away too! I usually just cut telemarkets off or I tell them my credit sucks and my house is being foreclosed.
