I've been colouring my hair with permanent hair dye for about three years now. My hair is pretty thin and it can get quite dry after dying it. Is it bad to use permanent hair dyes in the long run? Any tips on keeping your hair healthy after dying it?

Moisturize! I have been dying my hair with permanent dye for more than 20 years. Use shampoos and conditioners that: 1) moisturize, they have some specifically for colored hair and 2) that make your hair fuller, thicker.
A lot of the home hair coloring kits come with special tubes of moisturizers to use immediately after washing the dye out of your hair. These can really amke a big difference the first few days after you dye.

i dyed my hair about 5-6 times ... and it got really dried out .. my hair is realy thick and i straighten mine a lot but its not too dried out all the time .. i just use conditioner and dont put products in it .. i stoppedf using gel, mousse, hairspray..all that stuff ... it seems to be working for me but it maybe different for you .. my advice would be ask your hair dresser for their advice .. they know more than me.
