How long were you and your partner together before you decided to officially tie the knot? If you decided to tie the knot..
Me and my boyfriend have been together for about 3.5 years. We were going to get married last year, but he got laid off and finances were kind of tight, so we decided to wait.
How long do you think is too long....or is there a too long.....Is marriage important to you....

I moved in with my husband after 3 weeks of our first date. (we were very young) We married after 3yrs.
We were afraid that marraige would destroy us because we had seen it happen in our families too many times.
But through talking about it often we overcame our fear of it and tied the knot.
We have now been happily married for 19yrs.
I don't really think it is a matter of getting married or just living together, or how long you should know the person first. It is love, commitment, respect, openness, and honesty that will determine the outcome of any marrage.

My husband and I we have been in a long distance relationship (london,UK -Delft,Netherlands)for six years before we got married. It took six years because we were both just started College when we met. When we got married my husband was still studying in Delft but he was already in his final year and started looking for a job. The reason we got married at that time because he doesn't want me to leave europe, I'm from Indonesia. I think If I was from the UK we would have waited for at least another year/ until he really got a job.
So I guess the answer to your question is it depends on your circumtances and anyway as long as you love each other waiting for another few years wont make any different...good luck to you both..
