How can I get my husband to stop smoking for good? He has been smoking for 13+ years and up until recently hadn't wanted to stop. I tried to get him to quit but had no luck so I tried if you can't beat 'en join 'em thing and picked up smoking to have something in commom with him and didn't know what I was getting myself into. I quit on my own two years ago and have been tryin to get him to quit ever since. After I quit I told how much better and healthier I felt and asked him if he would mind giving it a shot to quit, but he kinda shrugged his shoulders and said he didnt want to because he enjoyed it too much.. So I backed off and kinda stayed away from him because he smelled so bad, then one day our 12 y/o son brought home a paper from school about how bad cigarette smoking is and he read it even though I told how bad they were for him he decided to quit the very next week he bought some patches and said he was gonna quit I supported him, but he didnt do it the right way he cut himself off from the patches after only buying one set and said he was strong enough to stop for good on his own. so I told him ok I believe you can do it.. unfortunately he started smoking again 2 months later.
