what are the causes of hairloss?

loosing hair is very frustrating! one of my friend loose his hair a year ago. he told me that this is medically known as aloepeia areata (small patches appeared in diff area on the head). he told me that this was due to stress but no significant explanation about this. he undergo treatment for 3 months and his hair was back then. i believe that stress is only one small factor which cause loosing hair but i think there is deeper explanation or cause...for you what are the causes of hairloss?

hi there, there can be alot of reasons why people lose hair, i believe stress could be one of them but not so sure, and many others, i lose my hair due to my pregnancy and alot too, i don't have bald patches, thankfully.
