Do you have a computer all to yourself or do you have to share it?

I was wondering how mnay of us on here are lucky enough to have a computer all to ourselves that we don't have to share with anyone, and how many of us have a computer which we have to share with others such as spouses, siblings, children, other household members etc? If you have to share, would you prefer not to?
I'm lucky enough to have my own, albeit not-do-great computer that i don't have to share. It's an ok computer, it does most of the things i want it to do. My partner has his own computer which is why we don't have to share, though we do share an internet connection.

I would hate to have to share a computer, everyone I know seems to do things in their own way, I can get on someone elses computer and I am completely lost, so many things on the computer has so many ways to go around things, I would hate to have to share and find my settings or something changed when I go back on it, I used to let a fella use my computer and he would change the size of things but never put it back it used to make me angry that every time he used it I had to put it back to the way I like it....I think computers are like handbags...a personal item....

I've always had a computer to myself. No one else in my family ever expressed an interest in using computers, so for as long as I have owned a computer (since 1995 when I was 13, 1998, when I got the internet) the computer has been mine alone.

My brother and I have our own computers. We used to have to share until about 4 years ago. Now, I don't have to share with anyone! My computer makes me happy, lol. It's got everything I need and it's fast. =]

I am like you as i do have my own computer that i like to call my old jalopy ... LMAO!! It is second hand but it is new to me and that is what matters most! The only thing that sucks is that we only have dial up so i have to be courteous to others with the phone line! None the less i am very glad that i have my very own computer and i do not like to share unless it is with the children to play their games and such!

I think I would go bananas if we had to share LOL We did that with our first computer many many years ago, but then the kids were small and not using it, and me and hubby had different work hours, so it didn't make much of a difference. But now? It would be really interesting to see the fight LOL
We put our own computers together,so he are fortunate to be able to have one for each member of the family, with spare pieces for more :)
WE do share the internet connection but I can't say that it makes any difference that is noticeable. Not for us.

We have 4 computers in my household. 2 laptops and 2 desktops. 1 desktop is in the dining area and is maintained and used by my mom even though she doesnt know how to. And this is the one i use when i dont have a laptop at the moment or if i need to give mine a break. I have a laptop and my brother has a very cool laptop and a very cool desktop!! He's a gamer and i'm trying to make him give me his laptop since he uses the desktop all the time.
He also pays the comcast bill. LOL

I have a desktop computer which is mine, but my dad occasionally uses it as it is set up for video editing and photography work, so has a lot of specialised software and hardware connected to it (like slide scanner, flatbed scanner, photo printer, video camera, digital SLR and all the software to go with it).
I also have a Macbook laptop which I bought a couple of months ago, I use it at work (I'm a teacher and connect it to my interactive whiteboard in my class) and use it to do all my planning. I also use it to go on the internet obviously. Both computers are connected to a shared broadband connection, but the mac has the advantage of being wireless.
My mum has her own laptop, which is good, because she likes to save lots of things that she sees online, and has lots of toolbars on her browser, which would drive me nuts! No one is allowed to interfere with my settings on my PC - it winds me up. That's the great thing about the mac - no one knows how to use it as well, so they leave it alone :D

Once you get your personal computer, there's no going bad (similar to the feeling when you switch from dialup to cable :P).
But if there is a need -- maybe the "other" computer is down or something, sharing once in a while should be fine. :)

Well I started with my own computer in 2000. And I have had my own sense. But last year when my desk was a mess I was forced for a while to share with my dad. It was the same computer my dad used, sometimes my mom and my sister too. NOT fun!
Then I bought a laptop and switched to this. Never looked back. Now rarely is this not mine. My dad got a laptop, my mom uses his old desktop, my sister has her own laptop (All the laptops are being paid monthly!) so now its like we all have our bathrooms we also have our own computers :D

i own my own computer which take me 3 years to pay in assurance, it is really good to own one, i don't have to used my friends comp to finish up my assignment, it is really a freedom to do anything with your own comp, but i my house my friends do shared my comp, i really hate it, cause you never know what they have change while you are away, but i not that mean to not give them use my comp, still sometimes i really mad when they change my setting here and there, yeah i have my own comp but not too happy with the sharing..
