I used to have Norton but it slowed the computer and later we found a Trojan Horse that it didn't catch. I really don't know what to tell you, because my father refuses to get virus protection and I'm not allowed on the computer. Just get something.

Really unless you're visiting dodgy sites the chances of getting a virus are very slim, firewalls are far more important.

I am using AVG Free Edition.. why? because its free to download, and it only consume few memory.I seldom use norton anivirus, because it consume large amount of memory...specially during start-up/boot-up.It's not advisable to use norton for slow computer..If you want to use norton better upgrade ur PC..

Norton Antivirus eats to much memory and it has a very slow update system. I mean really slow, and they bundle the download with the engine update. So i really dont want to recommend it.
