Death is something that we don't want to happen. Not even in our families and loved ones. But death is constant in this world. Everyone's life has to end. So if you are given two choices on how you would end your life, would you choose to die through an accident that would take your life right away? Or choose to experience an illness first such as cancer? These are the only choices. So, I 'm just wondering which of these two would you prefer?

When it has to happen, I'd just as soon it be something quick as opposed to suffering on and on. My aunt recently passed away from cancer. She'd been fighting it for years until she just didn't have anything left. She had no life quality, and she was a real burden on her husband because she couldn't do anything at all for herself. I'm sure she hated being in that position. In fact, towards the end she refused all treatment. It was horrible for everyone watching her die. I wouldn't want my husband and kids to have to go thru that with me.

I think you need to tell us more about why you were thinking of this issue and want to know what others have to say...some insight into your motivation would be helpful. Despite that I would rather have cancer, it's not that I want to linger for a long time, but with cancer, there's the possibility that something may be learned from your illness. Even if you are a mere statistic, someday that statistic could provide a clue about a cure or treatment for others. Also it would be nice to have some preparation time to say goodbye to our friends and family. The downside to this is the suffering and medical bills.

I would prefer cancer.Although it would kill you slowly,i would prefer this because i could have time to restore my memories from my family.But in accident you would'nt know when it will come to you.Your not prepared for that.And you will not have time to spend moments.But we can't choose which we one will we go through.But if i'll be given an option that my family could prepare the day i will be going with our Lord.

I know some people will say they would like to have cancer and suffer as the the Lord did but ummmm The Lord I know wouldn't want his children to suffer as he did and thats why he went through it for us.
But ya accident fast. I don't want to lay on the side of the road for a few then die i want instant or if I am going to lay there a live a little I don't want to be in any pain.

Oh my goodness this is a very difficult discussion. I'm going to say an accident. Here is my reasoning. I understand the response someone earlier gave about the suffering of our Lord, but I don't want the people I love to have to watch me suffer. That alone would kill me. And as far as getting to say goodbye, I know that if I were to die tomorrow in an accident, I have prepared them for this, they know how much I love them because I probably hug them, kiss them, and tell them I love them at least 10 times every day. We never go away from each other angry because you never know when that time might come.
Boy was this a hard one to answer. Thanks for really making me think about this.
