Website or blog?

In my opinion, it is better to have both a website as well as a blog. I do have both and although I do not have much time to update it, one day, these two will be the tools of my online businesses. Go to blogger.com for free blogs. For website, if you want it free, then go to geocities, lycos, just to name two of them.

Like you I have interest in know this kind of things. Just hope that you get good responses so we can start our online business : )

As the first responder mentioned - ideally you would have both (I do) but if for some reason you can't it would depend entirely on you. For the most part blogs are easier to maintain and with the range of templates available in wordpress for example you can really design some nice blogs. Blogs tend to get indexed quicker but websites seem to have more lasting power (which is why if you can you would create a website and then post a brief entry on a blog and then ping it - it lets people know about updates to your site quicker) As for where to get a site - there are many free hosts around - and many free website builders - just do a search for what best suits your needs - for example some free webhosts will provide a free wordpress blog and you can host your website there as well. Ifastnet is one example.

For me its better for you to be blogger first at blogger.com and then when you're establish try to creat website and blog with your own hosting and domain name.
