is rap to blame?

I read an article in the newspaper and it claimed that tens listening to rap music is a primary factor in the recent rise in shootings in the uks innercity area's i would just like to say that i listen to rap music and it doesn't make me want to go out and shoot someone and that is not the message they are trying to send not all rap is about guns and killing there are a lot of postives to and although guns and kiilin may be negatives real rapper are telling their story through their music even they didn't rap about it it would still be happening. in any case cds are labelled with notification to parents of explicit lyrics and if you dont wanna hear it you can turn it off. Its not one single persons fault and theres a million and one reasons why there is a growing gun culture and although rap is part of it i don't think it is to blame i'd like to hear what you think
