Sleep attacks? Anyone???

I have been my whole life mmocking and laughing at people who suddenly fall to sleep in public. Just the view of a falling head would make me laugh. That was until justice was brought to me :) I don't sleep that much (average of 5 to 6 hours each day). Now, whenever I am in a public transportation, I get these sleep attacks (starting from the afternoon). I keep on having them no matter how I try to stay focused not to sleep. When it comes, it never goes unless when I reach my destination or if the driver makes a sudden brake. What's more embarrassing is when my head keeps swinging with the movements of the bus. Sometimes I just hold my head before falling on the shoulders of the person beside me. I bet people are just laughing at me as I used to do :(

Im quite the opposite : IT is difficult for me to fall asleep if Im not in bed , even when I am extremely tired . -One time I drove the car for 2 consecutive days with no sleep at all ; in the final 5 hours I kept falling on the steering wheel and coming back ,it too me a whole hour to cover the last 30 kilometers of the trip because I kept passing out ,then I would wake up ,completely disoriented .I dont think would have made it if I didnt have a friend with me !

LOL..Sleeping while driving is something that I experienced too (having slept only 2 hours the day before). I had to stop for a while on the side of the road just to regain my strength (I was afraid of making an accident). Unfortunately, no one was with me. Thank you for your response.

That is so funny-not to be rude! I don't think I have ever seem someone just fall asleep, but if I did I would totally stare at them and wonder when they would wake up!! I would wonder why they were so tired?? Up with kids all night?? Drinking the night before? I would think of silly things like that...don't be embarassed!!!

Oh yeah...I know it's funny :) I once saw a tourist sleeping in a museum. It was very funny. I wondered why did he bother coming here from his country if he was goint to sleep in the museum!! I bet he didn't have enough sleep the day before. Thank you for your response.

Lol I remember i went through a stage of this on public transport and some one gave me a good tip. counting the cars you see. like very car! either side of the bus, behind and in front. You got to keep constantly looking around you and keep counting and do it for a wweek or teo til you get out the habit. A girl put her head on the table in class the other day during break and she fell asleep. The teacher never woke her and she slept til the end. She was so so embarressed but it was hilarious. Good luck and i hope you dont miss your stop too often.

It's always bad to miss your stop. I once had to wake someone in the underground when it reached the final station in the route. He had already missed his destination by 6 stations. Thank you for the tip; I'll try it next time.
