CSI fans: Did anyone else think the photo-teacher subplot was just gratitutious?

The episode was decent (not great, certainly) but personally, I thought they really didn't need the schizophrenic/stalker/owner of the worlds-biggest-photolab-in-a-storage-unit/obsessed teacher character at all. It added nothing to the story, except filler for the last 5 minutes. And what the heck was with all the plastic sheeting? It seemed like a scene from a completely different episode.
The teacher was fine as a red-herring suspect, but couldn't we just have left her as "weird" instead of having it turn out that she was apparently following the basketball star around all the time and filming him(esp. when he got killed) and no one noticed? It just seemed very choppy to me.
What's your take on it?

Yeah, the teacher just happened to be a looney lady. That storage locker was just plain weird. I did like the way they did most of the episode though. The introduction had me thinking that I was watching Without a Trace instead of CSI.

I think the storage locker/photo studio was what really irked me the most; I don't know why over use of sheet-plastic has ticked me off, but it really has!
And your right, the intro was very much like those of "Without a Trace." I knew it reminded me of something, I just couldn't think what it was (I haven't watched Trace in quite awhile).
