Blackheads are caused when sebum (the skin's natural oil) collects and hardens in the pores. The congesting toxins that are being expelled through your skin from the blood and lymph fluid combines with sebum creating a pasty glue.

thanks for the info simiran.... would there be things i have to avoid in order for the sebum not to form the pasty glue which is commonly known as blackheads?

wouldn't that open my pores a bit more and thus allow more blackheads to form?

Have you tried to use nose stripes? I have been using this for 5 years and they help to remove my blackheads and they have been effective for me. I have been using the Biore ones and you could get more information here: http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&Itemid=99999999&id=978

Yes,facial do clear blackheads? How it works. It loosen the blackhead contents then the beautifician there will extract it.
Cheaper method would be using a blackhead tool remover. Sterilised it before u use. Steam your face or take a hot shower. This produce the same effect as in facials.Press the remover loop on the side of your blackhead to remove it.After that, dab a bit of antibiotics to it to prevent any infection
