What is a good digital camera that is not to heavy on the checkbook?

I'm not looking for the best of the best, but I want it to perform well at a reasonable price. Does anyone have suggestions? I have looked at a few Kodak's and they seem to be really nice, would you recommend another brand?

I have the kodak easyshare digital camera and I love it. it`s easy to operate and to download the photos. the one I have is 5 megapixels. I have had it a few years now.

Thanks for the reply sandie. I believe it was the Easyshare Kodak that I was looking at. Im glad you have loved it, I will continue looking into that camera.
