Trying to pottytrain my 13 month olds - any advice

My husband and I have begun potty training our 13 month old twins. We take them every hour, or more, and have them sit there for about 5 minutes, unless they go sooner. Then we praise them tremendously if they go and they get a fruit snack. They love it. Just wondering if anyone has any other advice?

What's the hurry? 13 mos is way, way too young IMO. I hope your not caught up in the parent Olympics to be the first person with bragging rights at the playground. Your kids don't need the stress, lighten up and they will go soon enough. I never pressured my kids, skip the pull ups pants and they will go when they start feeling uncomfortable. But 13 mo's isn't developmentally appropriate at all.

The key to pottytraining is to work at their pace. If they aren't ready, you'll just frustrate them and prolong the process. My two and a half year old is *almost* pottytrained now and it didn't take very long because she was ready. It takes a lot of patience and there will be a lot of accidents. Just remember to stay positive and not negative. Good luck!
