rahul dravid is regarded as the wall, mr. consistent, mr. dependable in internaatinal cricket. i love him for his sheer dedication to the game and towards indian cricket and indian cricket team. he is the toughest crickter in the world cricket today. he is a true role model for every crickter in the world and for every indian and for every person in the world.
he started his career in england in 1996 in mecca of cricket lords with a test inning of 91 runs in the same test in which saurav ganguly also started his test career with a hundred. in his first inning he proved that he was going to be among the greatest batsmen of the game has ever seen. argaubaly he is the most correct and techincally equipped batsmen of the game in modern era. in early years he lived under the shadow of sachin tendulkar but later part he became the backbone of indian cricket and won many overseas matches and series for india single handedly. in his earlier one day career he used to be so slow for anyone liking and for that he dropped so many times from indian cricket team. but through his hard work and committment he became perfect one day batsmen and the finisher india needed a for ling time. now he has joined the elite club of one day batsmen that have made ten thousan runs one day cricket. i think india can one day cricket world cup under his captaincy but he has to be more aggressive in his captaincy because sometimes he waits to things happen and lets the things slip from his hand because in one day you have to react quickly according to the situation because things happen so quickly in one day cricket that in span of one delivery or one you can win or loose the match. but he has the ability and guts and the main tthing he has the team that can win him the world cup but he has to be needed become more shrewd and communicative.

I think India will win this time around.
I think this is the perfect chance for India to win the WC, because this time we are having well balanced squad with Experienced and Youth. India is having the strongest batting line up, likes of Sachin, Sourav, Dravid, Yuvraj, Dhoni, Sehwag etc, most of the players are in form and making valuable contributions for the team.
India is having a strong team as compare to last WC squad, Now Inclusion of Dhoni, Pathan, sreesant, munaf, uttappa made India even more stronger. I think its a golden opertunity for the Indians to win the WC 2007 in West Indies
Indian Batting mainly Depend on Sachin Tendulkar, He has a wonderful career so far, he made more runs than any one else in Odis and also tons, he can bowl seam up leg spin offspin, his bowling s an asset for INDIA, Sehwag, on his day he can belt any bowling line up he can bowl and he is a partnership breaker, Sourav, he has wonderful timing, after sachin he scored more runs for India, he can bowl and he is partnership breaker, Dravid is called THE WALL for his consistency, he is Mr dependable, Yuvraj is stylish left handed batsman, Dhoni a dangerous wicket keeper batsman, he can score 100 in 50 balls and also plays according to the situation.
Indian bowling line up is also good, munaf is excellent with newball, ajit is great at reversing the ball. Zaheer is peak of his career, Irfan is young and brightful all rounder for India, Sreesant an aggressive wicket taking bowler, and not to mention about Harbhajan, he is class act, Anil Kumble a dangerous leg skidder rather than a spinner, he experience will benefit India in this WC.
Biggest counter part AUS is struggling with injuries and lost their 6 out of 7 matches prior to the WC 2007 which includes a white wash in the hands of New Zealand, and loosing finals CB series finals to England 2-0.

yes rahul dravid has a great ability to play more consistantly in the match that is why he is also known as the great wall of the indian team
but as the question arise of captainship i will not prefer that he has not ability to guide the indian team but sourav has more power to guide more efficiently than him
as because sourav is a agressive and the success fu captain of india in past thats why i will say that it will more better to have sourav as a captain
as drvid is not a bad captin india will surely win this world up under the captaincy of rahul dravid

yes,why not.more over a captain is only as good as his team.as excepted by many big names in cricket,we are the best team on papers,when it comes to individual performance.its just that any given day two bowler and two batsman out perform and we will the world chamions 2007.
