Cradle of Filths cover actually managed to be the one and only song cover that I find superior in comparison to the original. I like Iron Maiden, but after comparing the songs the original just sounds like crap. Steve Harris' voice also sounds horrible on the song, it lacks a melody. Now, Cradle of Filth just managed to make the song extremely atmospheric and awsome. The lyrics were great from the beginning, but Iron Maiden didn't emit the atmosphere for them. The synths really added to it. Not to mention the guitar tones on Cradle of Filths were insanely awsome, and the solo five times better. What I found interesting in COF's cover though was at the end it sounds like Steve Harris holds a few notes before Dani Filth yells "Hallowed be thy name" a few times. It sounded great and I dont know how they pulled that off.

I actually prefer the cover, it's very well accomplished. Then again I'm not a Maiden fan...

The one by Cradle of Filth by far. There's actually a third version, but I forget the band name.

I definitely pick cradle of filth. Iron maiden's goes so slow compared to cradle's. I have hallowed be thy name as my ringtone on my phone..and of course its the one by cradle. Im sure other people will argue but cradle of filths is awesome in my opinion
