yes, i have 2 disabilities. i am visually impaired from ultra-high myopia. i suffered an eye hemorrhage a few years ago from this problem, and it caused me to lose most of my 3d vision. i have worn strong glasses since the age of two!
the other disability is spinal. i was operated on twice as a teenager for nerve compression and to fuse the spine in the lower lumbar area (L4 to S5 if i remember correctly), because a few of my vertabrae were slipping off my spine (moving of their own free will!). this is called spondylysis, a more brutal cousin of scoliosis.
as an adult, i'm not seriously impaired, as the second surgery ended up being much more of a success than the doctors predicted. if they had not have operated when they did, i would have been paralysed from waist down at the age of 13.
as for now, i can walk around, dance etc, but cannot engage in any sort of sport other than tennis/badminton/volleyball and free swim (meaning, doggie-paddle pretty much). i cannot run, jog or risk doing winter sports, in case of falling down. if i would fall and damage my spine now, apparently there would not be a whole lot they could do to help me.
what about you? were you born with your disability or was it a progressive illness, or caused by an accident, etc?
and how do you function in terms of internet usage....typing with a head attachment? voice recognition, etc?

Hi there, yes I am quadriplegic, a disability of my limbs, both hands and legs, due to a spinal cord injury I had three years back after a car accident, I cannot walk or use my hands so I spend a lot of time on the computer using voice activated software and a headset! I think it is a blessing for you to still be able to walk and dance! Be blessed

thanks for the blessing. i know i could have been a lot worse off.
i'm happy you are able to use voice rec software because years back it wouldn't have even been possible, at least not to the extent that it is used today.
i got familiar with some of those softwares while dealing with the blind association, they are quite handy! because of these innovations, you are able to join us in the mylot community, which is great!!

I have got an Intellectual Disability. I am not the only one from my Family with a Disability. Not a good thing when you are someone with nobody to help you understand. I hate this.
