I am a Business Grad. I was wondering whether is it difficult to learn Autocad? In Singapore, where is the best place to learn AutoCad and get a certification which is recognised?

Autocad has a steep learning curve, but once you master the basics moving onto advanced skills is quite easy. If you need 3d modeling software, try Sketchup, the learning curve is much more mild, you'll be able to develop a full building in mere minutes.

Thank you so much for the kind response. I'll definitely try Sketchup.

Sure thing. If you have a few minutes, I'm trying to create some Sketchup guided tutorials on my website. I only have two right now, for the Push/Pull and Copy commands, but they're worth checking out:

Let me know what you think, I'm recording more tutorials as I speak :D

I have some knowledge of AutoCad as I used to work for a software company where some of this kind of equipment is designed and manufactured. I think an engineering mindset is necessary to master the basics, but it's like any technical skill. In the U.S., business schools are set up specifically to train AutoCad operators. If you already have a business degree, then you must be familiar with algorithms and calculus which can come in handy. Singapore has to have a private AutoCad training program somewhere (some companies actually offer paid training on AutoCad if you're well-prepared in other areas). I've known some people who have downloaded a trial version of an AutoCad program and teach themselves the basics. Get a killer laptop or get Vista loaded up on yours. Scour the Web, look for training opportunities and I'm sure you will find them.
