hope the citizens of India, know the importance of this number. Have you ever dialed this number or gathered any information or used any of their services or recommended anyone this number?

I see that the one person who responded before me was unaware of the significance of this number, and this person was from India. Is it a local AIDS awareness service or does it cover the entire country? I'm from the U.S. and each state has a very comprehensive HIV/AIDS awareness and education program. If a citizen of India is unaware of the service, then I would have to wonder how well the service is reaching out into the communities and trying to educate people about HIV prevention and about HIV/AIDS. Keep spreading the word. Perhaps you could tell us all more about the services offered when an Indian calls 1097?

This service covers the entire country. IT is really patehtic that some people have not yet taken issues liek this seriously in my country. The services provided are 1.Free Aids information 2.Free blood test 3.Free methods of prevention etc.
