Do you believe that the the success of a discussion has something to do with the time it was post? Or is it just the subject that's matter? If you think time of the post is important what time do you think is the best? If not What other factor do you think is the most important and why? Thanks for your responses!

There are 73,851 registered users here, about 22,000 on the Indian sub-continent and 21,000 in North and South Americas so you want to hit the time zones for when they are awake. The next question is are people on line during the day or after work/school? That I don't know but I would guess the latter.

Easy. Under the myLot population stat, (bottom left of the nav bar) is a link 'users by location'. I just added up the members in the main countries. The bottom link 'users by rating' is also very informative. Only about 1,000 to 2,000 members have been paid out $10 at least once here.

I don't really think the time matters , I think the main thing is that it makes people want to say something back to you , sometimes I think "yes this will be good" and not many reply , then I think " nobody will answer " and they do , so I think the best thing really is to have nice friends on here so you answer their discussion and they answer your in return . xx Have fun ,I do

Thats what I usually do! I response to my friends and they response to my questions. What I also like to do is to bring old subjects to discussion by using the search button or simply by browsing my friends discussion list.

The success of a discussion some times depends on time and day. Some times our best discussion does not get any reply and some times a bad discussions gets more reply.

I totally agree with you! That happens to me some times. I want to reply to a good discussion but my lack of English some times stops me.

I think it is not the time as we all come from different timezone and to say afternoon may mean evening in the Philippines. For me and based on experience, there are two things that i noticed whenever i start a discussion. The more catchy the title is or the more short and direct it is as well, the more chances people see it and be curious then interested. Second, the more discussions i put in a night, the less for it to be all noticed. I dont know why but if i post one or two new topic everyday, it gains more replies than me starting 5 topic all at once. It gives less chances to have the rest of your topics getting buried witht he old ones.

A wise opinion I must say. And if the title is short people you get curios about the content of the discussion! Thanks for your response!

i think subject is much more important than time, you know, people are from all over the world, and their time zone are different,so no matter when you start a discussion, there will be someone seeing it,and of course not only one,the point is,if they are really interested in it and if they respond to it,your discussion will keep the top and more and more people will see it and respond to it. lol, that's what i think.

Yes but sometimes we want to maximize the number of people watching our discussions. But like you said, if the subject is not good no matter what time you put it you will not have many responses.

I think it is more about the quality of the discussion and if enough people can relate to it, because a lot of people here are from different time-zones, so there is no one time that would be good, because everyone is on Mylot at different times.

I think that has something to do with it but not all. I think also you have to put a title on your discussion that is going to catch the members eye. Make them want to read your discussion. I don't think it is just one thing that makes a success of a discussion but a few things.

That's true. It is a combination of many factors that make a discussion with a lot of replies.
