Don't let food poisoning take you out at the ball game. Each year, about 76 million of us get sidelined by bad food, some from ballpark meals. The risk is higher in local parks, where food is often served by the volunteers. Heave a sigh of relief: The sacred hot dog is a lower-risk chioce, since its precooked. Bit undercooked burgers or chicken and mayo-heavy salads can harbor sickening bacteria. Your the best bet is sticking with pre packaged foods like popcorn, carcker jack and candy. Watch the workers in action. They should be using gloves, food thermometers and good hand washing practices. You see a vendor wiping his nose or brushing his hair? You're outta there.

You are so right. I don't dare eat meals from ballparks. I stick to popcorn and pre-packaged foods too. I just don't think that there is enough control on the foodworkers at ballparks.

My granddaught and I got food poisoning at Yankee Stadium after eating the sausage and peppers. Never again! Now we eat before we go to a game. I go to the San Gennaro Feast often in NYC and have never gotten sick from the sausage and peppers there! Take care...
