Fatty Liver

I was diagnoise with fatty liver by my doctor 4 months ago. I control my diet per doctor advices and had gone back for liver function test one since. But the test still showed not very good. My doctor advised to excercise and dieting then go for liver fuction test again 3 months later. May anyone provide better advices? Thanks.
