why is it we can spend millions on space program,helping other countries.and feeding half the world.but we cant,(or want)help our own people who are homless an hungrey?are we thatpregtist against our own country?

You are so right. I lived in Washington DC for 2 months, and I saw that the park located 2 blocks from the White House was littered with homeless persons. What in the world is our government doing in which they can't clean up their own back yard?

I think it shameful to ignore our own needy and take care of other countries instead.

You are exactly right. Our government has put us in such a 'hole' helping other countries when we have our own, and sadly to say some war vets living on the streets. Yes some of them I'm sure made wrong decissions and ended up there but others did not. It is very sad that we will not help our own but will spend millions on millions to send to other countries who have already betrayed us
