The original computer is very expensive. One gets the assembled computer for almost half the price. What would you go for?

i prefer assembled pc over buying a package pc. primarily because i have the luxury to choose the best but affordable parts for my pc and it guarantees that the parts that i will choose will suit my preferences and provide my needs

Assembled for sure. As it gives freedom to choose best out of best that suits my computer. And the main reason behind it is assemblem PC have more warranty periods than branded one as branded computers came with 1.
warranty, assemble have following warranties:
Processor - 3 yrs
Motherboard - 3
Hard disk - 5
Monitor - 3
Keyboard - 3
Mouse - 3
RAM - 3
etc.

I think u r from India right... ?
Any ways the original brnded PC is very expensive as u said.
But when u want to buy PC in ur budget its better to go for assembled one.
Suppose u bought new PC branded one....
when u invest that money in that PC with out Printer ,modem , webcam ,etc,, that means the external hardware of PC, U can go for assembled one which involves every product from a good company with its own period of warranty with all external hardware with same cost.
So u say which one is better to go with ?
I suggest u to go for Assembled one which helps u to go for a configuration of ur choice.

Assembled is any day better cause what you are putting together are boards and the orignal OEM computer has also got the same it just that they take the money for the brand name

I didn't know they still did pc kits but go for that.
I know it is an old saying that the second time of doing anything is easier that the first, but building a PC is easy.
There are lots of websites that will help you, as long, of course, you have got a PC to surf. haha
In the UK, pc's are cheap now and come bundled with the operating system pre-installed. With kits the OS was not included and by the time the OS was added on the price was similar to the assembled PC so was not really worth it.
I have built dozens of PCs for locals and myself but those are custom built for specific tasks. For a bog standard PC for home office use then a cheapo PC from a shop is hard to beat on price compared to buying the components.
