I've been thinking for some time now about selling on Ebay. I've been looking at these online wholesalers items. I want to sell clothes online by the way. But, I don't know if there is another way or easier way to get started.
Should I continue my quest for looking around at different wholesalers?I'm still at a lost a bit...
If you sale items on Ebay, how did you get started, or what would be my first plan of action to take before I invest money? Any helpful information is very much appreciated...

I started selling on Ebay about a month ago and have had pretty good succuess selling almost everything that I put up. I have sold a few text books (from uni) clothes of bothe mine and my daughters and some novels. I have noticed though that if they don't sell first time, if you relist they usually go. Remember to put on enough for postage costs. That is the only place I have let myself down. Good luck.

Good luck selling clothes, I did for the past 2 years and just gave it up due to the decrease in sales and the increase in fees. The best I can suggest for you is ALWAYS go for name brand items. These sell the best on eBay. Never sell an item for the item (i.e., lingerie, active wear or dresses) sell them for who makes them, that is the only way to sell. Also, do you RESEARCH, go online and research how much the item sold for (you do this on completed items) and how many sold for that one item. Also, if you are doing wholesale you need to make sure that these are authentic items, there are so many scammers out there, be careful. Good luck.

I have been selling on and off on eBay for the pas 2years now. Starting by selling all the stuff I don't need, then I'll start buying very cheap job lot on ebay that is on auction and with very low starting price ( I always set certain budget for it and never go beyond), Then I sell all of those items and make my self quite a good profit. I only do it around certain time of the year though mostly x-mas time.

Once we made the decision to start selling on eBay, we too did a lot of searching around for suppliers. We didn't want to exclusively dropship, we also wanted to carry our own inventory. BTW, we sell home decor products!
Anyway, we found wholesale resources through educating ourselves on that subject.
We've put up a website where we've included the sources that we use. Not only our wholesale resources but also resources we use for marketing, auction management, etc.
You can vist our site at http://www.fyhomestore.com

I got started by selling items I no longer wanted. The online wholesales are generally overpriced and overused. You need to get prices below wholesale to make a real profit. You need to research what sells, but you also need to have a passion for the items you want to sell. It's hard to sell things you don't enjoy selling.

Hi - i have just started selling on ebay and i am just as confused/apprehensive as you are. My uncle sells quite often there so he guides me through it. I just put up one item on sale and i'm happy to see i got my first bid 2 days ago.. gives me hope that this can really work. Try putting up few items before investing a lot of money - the no of bids you get and the questions the buyers ask will give you an idea of the market trend. Happy ebaying.

I don't sell anything on ebay, my brother does and he's the one that got me into it. He sells some things sometimes on there like car parts. I think it's the best way for you to sell wholesale clothing. Ebay is a safe website, you set up your account through pay pal. And the more you sell and buy the more feedback you get from people on ebay. And when you get good feedback your % rating goes up and being close to 100% is the way people know you're a good and honest seller/buyer.

I haven't sold anything on ebay yet, only bought so far. I have read several of the ebooks available though, and have some insight into the process. I hope you don't mind if I join your discussion with a question of my own. I have recently gone thru my storage unit & found several things I was considering listing on ebay. There is one question that I haven't had answered in any of the ebooks, yet it seems to be a sore subject to the ebay buyers here at mylot at times. LOL
IF you are just getting started with a few unwanted items, HOW are you supposed to figure out how much to charge for shipping & handling, considering ebay sells worldwide?
Are you just supposed to go to the post office and ask them to weigh it & tell you how much it'll cost to send to anywhere in the world or what? I don't think they'd like me too much if I brought in a dozen or so packages, got them to do the calculations & leave without sending any of them. There must be a better way lol. In most of the ebooks, they are teaching you to reach power seller status & use dropshippers. I'm not quite ready for that.

I know me either, I just want to get started and do it slowly..I'm not trying to be a power seller, just getting into making some extra money...I know I see on Ebay people who have shipping for 10.00 and they live like 200 miles from me. It's crazy alone...I know what you mean...Thank you for the helpful and insightful information..

At one time i thought about selling on ebay like you, i did some research and looking for products to sell, and wholesalers lists and info and even got a license for a wholesaler. Me and the boyfriend at the time, went and bought some stuff to sell on ebay but none the less, it didnt work out like that. I do know from personal experience thou the best thing i did get money from was selling my old video games i didnt play any longer. so you might want to look into wholesale for video games and give that a try. good luck to you on ebay

God I started on Ebay ages ago, really wasnt sure at first about going on and selling, I was buying at first seemed really easy.
When I first started selling i wasnt even signed up to paypal and was just taking cheques and postal orders, but once I got signed up to paypal it sure was a lot more easy, just with there wasnt so many fees.
Be carful though its very additive, set yourself a limit on what you are willing to go to when bidding, its very easy to get caught up in it and end up paying too much.
Its a easy way to get rid of what you think is junk, as the saying goes one mans junk is another mans treasure.
Best advice sign and start small just with buying and build up your feedback score, before you start selling and remember if its too good to be true then it probably is.

I've been planning on selling for a long time now. But what finally got me started was a combination of losing my regular job, and wanting to get my house decluttered. I used to just take things to the salvation army, but figured I could try to sell stuff. Since I have a bit more time now that I'm a SAHM, I might as well get some money. :-)
