I'm bored with my current job

About a year ago, due to health reasons, I transferred to another department because the stress of my job in my previous department was just too much. So, for about a year now, i'm stuck with my current department. This is the exact opposite of my previous job, and guess what, i miss beating deadlines, coordinating with various departments, doing research, etc. And i think, if not for health reasons, i regret having transferred to my current department. Now, i'm planning to transfer again, and i'm now looking for vacancies in other departments which i think would be more challenging. But my problem is, if all things turn out OK, my family will be migrating to another country in a year's time. So, i need suggestions/advice on what to do. Should i just stay in my current job, where there is less demand, less stress, but no challenge, and just sit it out for 1 more year? Or should i move to another job where i feel i can maximize my potentials, although, there's a possibility that i wouldn't even stay in that job for long because of our plans to migrate to another country?

Just think of what you are going to put in your resume when you migrate to another country and start looking for a job. Your decision depends on your ability to handle the stress if you transfer to another position. You don't want the new position to be so stressful that you will get sick. I would consider the pros and cons and probably stay with the job you have now.

Wel if you are moving soon, my advice to you would be not to move jobs/departments again. It would hardly seem worth learning something new only to leave it again. It could cause your stress levels to rise again, and it may look bad on your resume if it seems you moved about too often. How about doing something in your own time (eveneings or weekends), that would stretch you, and give you a challenge, wthout being involved with a job? You could join a Charity or Voluntary organisation, and try to get things off the ground for them, or how about doing Open Univesity, learning a new language, or studying anything that interests you? Good Luck with whatever you decide.
