In my case, I adore Tolkien and somebody told me BG did a lot of stuff based on Tolkien's works.
How were YOU introduced to Blind Guardian?

I've started listening to metal 4 years ago, listening to Iron Maiden, Van Halen, etc..
But then, I was at my cousin, and he was playing an cd of Blind Guardian, and I'd liked it so much, that from then on, I can't live 1 day without Blind Guardian!

yeah, by now, I've seen them last year 2 times live, once at Biebob in Vosselaar (Belgium) and the second time in Hof ter lo, antwerpen (also Belgium)
This year I will see them at Graspop metal meeting, Dessel (Belgium) and the second time at Wacken open air, Wacken (Germany)
It 'll be a big party again!
"and the bards song will remain!"

I had recently gotten into metal and I was looking for some new bands. I noticed how a lot of Blind Guardian's songs seemed to be related to Lord Of The Rings and, being the huge fan of Tolkien I am, I just had to check them out.

I saw "A Night at the Opera" on a music downloading site one time and really liked it. Now I have almost all of their CDs. I really like the vocals, he's got a great voice.

It all started when I was listening to some online radio and the live version of Valhalla started to play... I thought 'hey, this group sounds cool'. Then I found Nightfall on Middle Earth... Being a general fantasy addict I found heaven there.
