is it safe to shop on https:// site???

i want to do some shopping online but i am afraid that the information would be leaked to other sites or my account could be monitored and hacked by other people....i would like to know if its safe to do shopping on site with https:// or is there something more specific i would have to look out for????

Just make sure that the website you are shopping on is secure and that there is a padlock at the top of your browser when it's time for you to put in your account details and credit details. So just check that the site you are going to shop with has a good customer service

ya sure.... i will always keep an eye on that.... ya i would also need to do research on these sites before shopping i would also need to check out some forums to know its past interface with people... what do you say about that?? and also Thanks for the response

I do a lot of shopping on the internet and have never had any problems. I think the main thing is to make sure the site looks proffessinal and you know of the company. If you are not sure try posting the website address in an online forum to see if anyone else has used them. That's what i did when buying my camera from the net. Don't worry too much, you can get some great deals on the internet.
