Hi there!
China and India have a combined population of 2.5 billion!
Who will be the next superpower?
Will it be India, with a booming IT and tech sector, or will it be the "factory of the world", China?
What do you think? Why?
Cheers!
Andre

Yes, they're both definitely world powers!
I was asking about who would be the next superpower? Since the demise of the Soviet Union, USA is considered the sole superpower.
I suppose to qualify for "Superpower" status a country needs to be top in terms of economic and military power, as well as political and cultural influence.
India and China are definitely economic powers with growing political clout. But both currently do not have a true "blue water navy" which can project military power at a great distance.
So who do you think will join the USA at the top of the heap?

srr abt the previous comment, accidently typed and posted a report in the wrong window, srr once again.
back @ topic...abt india or china being a next superpower.
I think China will get there first, followed by India. But I hope that India doesn't contest to become a superpower. I rather see them providing free school for EVERYONE...providing basic necessities (water, electricity...) to all india and not the ones in cities.
India is def on the right way...but it's lagging way behind if you keep the internal affairs in mind. I hope India could invest more in these basic stuff than weapons...but due to its location its kinda bound to spend a lot of money in its weaponary.
Yet I think that China stands overall better than India atm...

according to the prediction made by Goldman sachs, india has ggot all the potential to become the next superpower provided the current growth rate is not slowed down. Me being Indian have a full faith in his predictions.
