The Jews Scripture predicted or prophesied about the coming 'Messiah' or Anointed King in the Lineage of David, who should deliver them from the then rule of their enemies. This Messiah, says Isaiah, shall sit & reign "upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it" [Isaiah 9:7] And this prophecy was in order of fulfillment, when Gabriel announced to Mary: "Thou shall bring forth a Son, and shall call his name Jesus; and the Lord GOD shall give unto him the throne of his father DAVID: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever" [Luke 1:32-33] There is NOT a single 'PROPHECY' anywhere that this KING shall be 'DIVINE' or 'SON OF GOD'. This Messiah, Jesus, who came was mere man, but instinct with the spirit of GOD, is positively avowed by both Peter & Paul. Peter said in his first sermon at Pentecost: "Ye men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth a MAN approved of GOD..." [Acts 2:22] continued Peter: Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the Patriarch David, that he is both dead & buried, and his sepulcher is with us unto this day. Therefore being a PROPHET and knowing that GOD had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne.[Acts 2:29-30] Paul said:"There is ONE GOD, AND ONE mediator between GOD and men, the man CHRIST JESUS" [1Timothy 2:5] Paul: "Jesus Christ of the seed of David" [2Timothy 2:8] Therefore, in the times when the sacred books were written, Jesus was at that time regarded SIMPLY AS A MAN, or [descendant] Son of David.

there is much prophecy of jesus in the scripture in the old testament !and as for Him being the son of God read matthew 3 : 16. As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. 17. And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." also here are a few old testament prophecies concerning him 27 I will also appoint him my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth. 28 I will maintain my love to him forever, and my covenant with him will never fail. 27 I will also appoint him my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth. 28 I will maintain my love to him forever, and my covenant with him will never fail. Isiah 9: 6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this. )
