am i the only one with a strong interest in raising the awareness of the good qualities of cloth diapering to the general public? i want people to understand how sanitary they really are as opposed to disposables. i want people to know that they are supposed to flush the poop from a disposable just like from a cloth diaper. why is it that people that use disposable diapers aren't disgusted by the fact that all these babies solid waste is improperly disposed of? i just don't understand it and i don't understand why people are so resistant to learning. once you try to tell them the good qualities they just crinkle up their noses and say ooooh i couldn't do that!!! that's such a cop-out, sure u could...and i can even show u how fun and easy it can be...i just wish people would actually hear me say that instead of closing their ears the moment u suggest it as a possibility.

I couldn't agree more. People look at me like I am crazy and tell me it's gross. But isn't throwing away human waste, not to mention technically ILLEGAL? I just got some kooshies liners so now when i change his diaper I just pull the liner off and flush with all the poop. It's not gross. And yes nobody ever listens. I have a few friends that love that I use cloth and are very interested when they have children, you just gotta show em there not the diapers we were, not pins no fuss! Keep it up mama we will get the word out there!

I have to agree with you on the qualities of cloth diapers. I used cloth diapers with my children and I did not have many problems with diaper rash. A few other good points are: Cost- Disposable diapers are not cheap. You buy cloth diapers once and reuse them over and over. Environment- Disposable diapers are helping to fill up our landfills. I feel like they should make the disposable diapers with biodegradable materials. Young mothers of today have always used disposable diapers. Many would not even know how to put a cloth diaper on a baby. Much less, want to take the time to clean them out and do laundry every single day. It is not a fun thing to do, but I knew what I was putting next to my babys skin.

it is impossible to mess up putting on a cloth diaper of today. you unfold it and lay baby on it just as a disposable, put the front over their private area and velcro shut....just like a disposable. i think people just are set in what they know and don't want to learn anything else. and it's wonderful knowing what is going against babies skin. with the disposables u have so many chemilcals contact their delicate skin. i'd rather wash than expose to unnecessary chemicals. you don't even have to fold diapers these days. i wish that if people were going to continue to use disposable diapers then they would use them correctly and responsibly and at least not keep solid waste exposed.
