Why is sky blue in color

The question might sound a bit odd but i really want to know why the sky looks the way it does

hi Ankit I think the reason behind that the sky looks blue in colour is reflection of light as u must have red bout the dispersion of light rays from a prism similarly the light rays of different colours are dispersed but here the blue light disperse more thus making the sky look blue....
