i saw the movie "Bridge to Terrabithia" yesterday with my son and i give 2 thumbs up for it!
it's about a boy with 2 sisters, love for running, and a creative imagination. he meets the new girl in school and they subsequently discovered a common interest which drew them closer to each other.
the movie has a lot, and i mean a lot, of lessons to impart to its audience, particularly helpful in trying to understand how the mind of a young, growing up boy works. that's right, although it is a movie for kids i find it more addressed to how young boys deal with life, gains and losses both, and appreciating what is there all along.
but i must add that even though it is a movie you can take your kids to watch, it is not at all exclusively for them to enjoy. i would also strongly recommend the movie even to more mature, adult moviegoers for the lessons that can be drawn from the movie. especially for parents who, i believe, will be much helped in their understanding of their own children.

Looks to similar to the cronicals of narnia the lion the witch and the wardrobe, and lord of the rings to me. That is the one main reason I don't want to see it. They copied to many movies.

that's also what i thought, but i think this one is different from Chronicles of Narnia..i don't want to say more because i might spoil the movie for those who might want to see it..

This movie is very very very different from Narnia. It is nothing like Narina at all. It was completely misrepresented in every trailer released for the moive. Check out the reviews before going to see it. If you have little ones, don't bring them. This is definately for the 12+ crowd.

i totally agree. it's more of a growing up for kids type of movie. the different subjects dealt with are definitely not for toddlers who might get wrong ideas of the images shown where the protagonist children are involved. for that it really is much different from Narnia.

Saw the premiere and the movie has all the earmarks of a major hit. You never know for sure with American audiences but this is a very beautiful and engaging film. It really outclasses any number of recent movies marketed at kids and it is one of the few I've seen that shows honest protrayals of both children and adults. No one, not even the bullies, is a sterotype or caricature. The novel is a masterpiece, but this film holds it's own. With so many films, you walk out, whether amused or annoyed, and soon forget most of what you saw. Not so with Bridge-it stays with you, as it should. Go and enjoy, and then pass the world.

I read that book 15 years ago when I was in grade 5. I have heard that they just made a movie out of it. Perhaps some day I'll go see it. It sounds like it would be interesting, especially since I already read the book and know the plot.

I have heard some good things about this movie and I'm looking forward to it moving to our local "bargain show." I do plan to take the kids, but we usually talk about the movies that we go see afterward anyway, so this will be a great one to talk about from what it sounds
