My childhood friends boyfriend, has a very bad habit. He picks his nose all the time. Be it in the house, friendly get together, office, while walking on the streets, his finger is always in his nostrils. We have tried to persuade him, my friend went to the extreme limits to make him understand, but there seems to be no effect on him. Such a bad and embarrasing habit, he has. Can anyone suggest what can be done...........?

Don't stop telling him to get away with his habit of putting his finger in his nostrils. If he likes to change that, he can. If he doesn't like, stay away from him. Let him lose his friends because of that very bad habit.

You should start doing the same or anything like that which can make him irritated. That might work.

Make him wear very long FAKE fingernails. Then every time he tries to stick his finger up his nose he'll scratch himself, and it'll hurt, or possibly give him a nose bleed. This should help him break the habit.
