I like cd roms because i have been using them from a very long time and i like to keep them in order. But in dvds all the data is in one dvd and there is no fun and by chance if the dvd gets lost all the data is lost.

I like both anshnav. DVD and CD has their own pros and cons to begin with. For the example, cd roms cannot play dvd but dvd roms can play cd. In terms of flexibility i think everybody would prefer dvd roms since you can still used dvd roms to read cd, it also and read dvd. Rather than two devices, become one device, how about it. Rather than multiple CD become one DVD only. It's really flexible, cheap, easy to move and less place to store. :)

of course dvd. it can play wide file formats and read and play almost everything. Sooner or later the cd roms will be phaseout.regarding the discs, dvd has the capacity of 8.5 gig on a double layer dvd while cd has only 700mb capacity. For me why should i use cd rom/cdr/cdrw when dvd/rom/writer/dvd discs are much better to use.
