In a video game I once played, there was a radio show where the host asked, "if God wanted us to be monogamous, why weren't we born already married?"
I disagree with people who commit adultery. They wouldn't want their spouse to commit adultery on them, so why do they think it's right? Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you. If you don't mind that your wife screws other men, then go right ahead and schtup all the women who'll let you.

If you think you are polygamous by nature, then you shouldn't get married. Marriage is a monogamous institution. Some people have no trouble staying faithful because they really love their partners, and if you are truly in love with someone you don't WANT to be with anyone else. That is why people see infidelity as such a big betrayal. It proves that their partner does not love them enough to be happy with them alone and needs to seek out other people. Also the lying that is so often involved proves that their partner did not love them enough to be honest with them and tell them the truth. It's true that some people will never be faithful and that they can't really help themselves. They are just not capable of loving another person that much.
I think open relationships can work, as long as both partners are OK with the situation and they are totally honest with each other. It's much better for unfaithful people to get together and screw around on each other than to ruin the lives of monogamous people.
