There has beena lot of debate about who should be picked number one, but I believe that it should be Joe Thomas, the offensive lineman from the University of Wisconsin. I believe that with the problems that the Oakland Raiders have had on offense, the line might be the biggest need. Especially if the Raiders are still committed to playing Andrew Walter.
If they do have to take a quarterback, then I'd take JaMarcus Russell over Brady Quinn.

Well, I think you seen what happens when the first pick in the NFL Draft doesn't pick the best player in the draft (Houston Texans). I think the world tilted a little bit to the left when Reggie didn't get picked.
I think even with the O-Line problems that Oakland has, they still go with JaMarcus Russell. The Raiders have had some of the worst QBs in the recent past. Right now, they're probably looking at Tuiososopo (sp?) or Walter. That is not something to look forward to. They already got rid of Brooks who stunk it up.
They need something, and something quick. With an O-Line, you can coach 'em up, because a lot of it is blocking schemes and blitz pickups. I just don't think that their Offensive Coordinator had what it takes to run the offense. So, I'm interested what Lane from USC can do.

i see what you're saying, but at the same time look at what a game-changing talent on the line can do (top picks Jonathan Ogden and Orlando Pace)... they've anchored their teams to Super Bowl Championships...
in the end, i think it will be Russell, i believe that if the Raiders can trade down (possibly with Cleveland) they can stockpile and extra pick or two and get a talented player...
