india's plan for a lunar mission

do u think that it is really necessary for india to send a craft to moon, when millions are still unemployed, dying of hunger, are shelterless? it is going to be a great achievement. there is no doubt about that? but, is it necessary to incur such a huge expenditure???

being such a great country in satellites missions and nuclear powers + great master mind brains its very important as well as necessary for india to send a craft on moon.
this way india can prove that they are not back enough from other countries.

The scientific benefits developed in space just might help more people down the road than holding back in favor of short term goals would now.
Yes, there are many starving people, but controlling the growth of the population has to be handled through birth control. Avoiding scientific endeavors would have left the world with more people than there are at present, and more would be starving.
It will be necessary for our descendents to have options for life off planet as the resources here get used up. I think we would be remiss in our duties to our descendents in not developing those options before it is too late.
