In your country mobile is banned in college or not ?

In India mobile is banned in college because it disturb the studies which is going on, what your thought about it ?

It is banned in colleges but I think now it is necessity of all students to have a mobile. But when a teacher was teaching something it must be switched off or in silent mode because it disturb whole class when someone call you.

I will take it to be a good idea. The students are in school to study and not to be talking to the phone nor sending messages to friends. Their concentration in their studies will be highly affected if distractions coming from those mobile phones are not checked.
