Why are members not in the habit of rating the discussion?

I thought when we are serious membes of myLot we should follow all the rules, regulation, direction and ettiquettes. Everyone should develop the habbit of rating the discussion, comments and responses. We should also mark the best reponses. Will it not be good for everyone?

I agree with you completely! however, what i'm seeing are people posting just to post. They seem to care more about the number of posts printed and less on what they're actually saying. whats more, i'm doubtful some even return to their own posts to read answers. There are so many responses i've made asking for clarification and they're unresolved.

i rate discussions and responses. but it takes time to give the best response.i usually wait for few days or weeks before marking the best response. sometime i have discussions that get only 2 responses and i know those discussions might still become active again, so i don't mark the best response that early. but like you i believe we should rate good discussions and resolve the discussions we make.this helps all of us mylot users.

I rate good discussions but I don't rate all discussions. I have only given a negative rating to a few who had obviously just copied an answer which didn't even respond to the discussion or to an answer that was really bad.
Rating discussions helps determine the points and points tell you who are serious about writing decent answers.

hi bairjula as i can see you are a new member here,as you start replying to discussion you can easily come to know why everyone is not ating all the discussions, its a tough task if you wntto rate each and every discussion here, i simply say you cant if a discussion is having 100 responses will you be rating all those 100 resonses, ofcourse no,hardly you will be rating 5 or max of 10 thats it, i know out of my experience iamsaying. let see in coming days how many ratings you do.

yes i agree with you, but most of the time i get these worthless posts that are "i agree" and things like that, now im guessing those people do not rate the discussion much or pick a best response, i have picked one or two best responses out of my discussions and i do try to rate posts
