I do NOT agree. I happen to like opera, and I am not rich, or a snob. The problem is that an Opera production costs a lot more than a normal show to produce, and since the costs are high, the ticket prices are high, and then it gets tagged as a snob event. I usually go to see operas as reduced prices, or go to see opera master-classes (where students in various stages in learning are taught in front of the class), these are the best, since I learn a lot about opera this way. Operas have so much in them - An interesting story, beautiful music, fantastic voices, interesting languages, acting (A lot of it, mostly facial expressions and playing the character you are singing correctly). I think everyone should see an opera at least once, just like everyone should listen to a concert at least once, or go to see a show or a musical once - it's just something you have to experience to understand properly.

Opera - Singers in an opera.
I do not know if this mimic is for snobs or not, but it is certainly not for me, I have no desire to go to an opera I find the music annoying. It is loud and who even knows what they are singing about . It has to be an acquired taste by who I don't know. There must be people out there that actually like it or there wouldn't be any operas.

Opera is not for snobs and rich people. I am just a regular person and I enjoy it. I enjoy all kinds of music from around the world. Right now I'm listening to traditional Ukrainian folk music.

I really don't like slander, however I had a friend go onto the Opera show and she said she was treated terribly and Oprah was stuck up and didn't even speak with her when the cameras were off. She hated it. I know people who love her though. I prefer Kelly Rippa, she's hilarious and down to earth!
