Photoreading

I've just borrowed this book by Paul Scheele about Photoreading. It's supposed to be a method of speed reading. See e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PhotoReading for more details. I have not started reading the book yet but I will, soon. I was just wondering: any of it had tried to pick this up and how much it has worked for you. Thanks!

Thank goodness there are so many skeptics in this world, else everyone would be carrying a PH.D in something..:p If you want to attend a Photo Reading seminar, you can look for Xssion LLP (Singapore) The book doesn't work as well as the seminar itself.

Well, Ph.Ds are easy enough to get. You just need some dough or a decent printer. :P I went through half the book (using the stupid read deeper by icon technique that was recommended) and I fell asleep as least twice so far. The book has been left on my couch for a few days untouched already... I can't see that imaginary spine thing. So how am I supposed to work it? Did you attend the seminar before? Can you photoread already? Tell me man, you just got me excited again!!!

Of course I am not photo reading lah... so expensive, you think I rich meh... If I know how to photo read, I would be top trader by now. But I did go through part of the photo reading system and do managed to increase my reading speed by 3x or so. I just don't like the mind mapping part... read one book so much preparation...

Aiyah.. you ya ya papaya.. I thought wat. :P You mean you can see that imaginary spine? And it does seem a lot more effort than normal speed reading - which looks similar to the last bit on rapid reading.

Actually have never heard of it. As Wiki says, the jury is still out if this is bunk or science. Hope you find the book interesting and helpful. Reading, thinking and use of the mind are very good things to be doing.

Photoreading doesn't really work that way. It will not be that useful for reading myLot stuffs - it's like fasting for 7 days and preparing to do something BIG when it is really just a short walk to the letterbox.

Oh so that's what's it's called! I recently came to realize that in order to memorize or have something stick to mind quicker is by seeing words as images rather than letters! I kept getting annoyed when i tried memorizing plate numbers of cars or other vehicles when i'm on a jeepney and it suddenly came to me that by looking at the plate numbers as an image i could easily remember the vehicles plate number even if it's been 10 minutes or so! Isn't that great? Wow... maybe i should get a book about it or something for more info. Haha. Thanks for sharing this. =)

I read the book but I don't find it too useful. Maybe enrolling in their seminar is better...
